The Coral Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) module gives a complete attitude reference, including absolute heading. It uses MEMS tactical grade sensors and advanced filter techniques to provide accurate readings over a standard serial interface. The Coral AHRS™ was designed and built for performance and ease of use.

All I/O and power requirements are met by a single, readily available DB-9 connector. An efficient switching power regulator requires 9-28VDC, using only 870mW (at 12V), making the Coral AHRS ideal for robotics or other low power systems.

The Coral AHRS™ module's configuration data regarding output modes, baud rates, hard iron calibration, etc. is all accessible though the serial interface.When the configuration data is stored in non-volatile memory, device settings are preserved so that it behaves as configured every time it's powered on. The Coral AHRS™ includes an "IMU mode," for advanced users who need to implement their own custom filter code, such as for a GPS/INS. In that mode, the output from each sensor (gyros, accelerometers, and magnetometers) is scaled and corrected for misalignment and other errors, and then sent without any additional filtering. Unprocessed raw sensor values are also available. The output rate of the Coral AHRS module is not dependent on the output mode used; users can access any output mode at any supported output frequency.

The Coral AHRS™ is available as both a module and in a Starter Kit, to aid in evaluation and development.
